Venison Snack Sticks With Cheese Recipes

As the weather begins to cool and the leaves change color, there’s nothing quite like the nostalgia of enjoying some homemade snacks with loved ones. And what better way to satisfy that craving than with some teriyaki deer snack sticks? These savory treats are easy to make and perfect for outdoor adventures or cozy nights at home.

To start, preheat your oven to 200°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, mix together 1 pound of ground venison and 1 pound of ground pork. Add in 1/4 cup of teriyaki sauce, 1 tablespoon of onion powder, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until well combined and set aside.

Next, prepare your casings. You can use either natural hog casings or collagen casings, depending on your preference. Soak the casings in cold water for at least 30 minutes, then rinse them thoroughly before using.

Attach a sausage stuffer to your stand mixer and fill it with the meat mixture. Thread the casings onto the stuffer and start feeding the meat mixture into the casing, making sure to leave some space at the ends. Twist the casing every 4-5 inches to create individual snack sticks.

Once all the meat mixture is used up, place the snack sticks onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake them in the preheated oven for 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool completely.

To finish off the snack sticks, cut them into pieces and serve them with your favorite dipping sauce. You can also add some sliced cheese on top for an extra indulgent twist.
