Mueller's Baked Macaroni And Cheese Recipe

Hey there foodies! I bet all you have been craving for some good old comfort food lately. And let me tell you, there’s nothing more comforting than a classic baked mac and cheese dish. I have the most amazing recipe for you that I swear will make your taste buds dance with joy. So, put on your aprons and let’s get started.

Ingredients:

  • Elbow macaroni – 8 oz
  • Butter – ¼ cup
  • All-purpose flour – ¼ cup
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Black pepper – ½ tsp
  • Onion powder – ½ tsp
  • Dry mustard – ½ tsp
  • Milk – 2 cups
  • Shredded cheddar cheese – 2 cups
  • Panko breadcrumbs – ½ cup
  • Paprika – ¼ tsp

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350° F.

2. Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and dry mustard. Whisk the mixture together until it starts to bubble.

4. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking constantly until the mixture becomes smooth. Keep whisking and cooking the mixture until it starts to thicken, which should take around 5 minutes.

5. Once the mixture is thick, remove the saucepan from the heat and add in the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.

6. Add the cooked elbow macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir well.

7. Pour the mac and cheese mixture into a greased baking dish.

8. In a separate bowl, mix the Panko breadcrumbs and paprika together and then sprinkle the mixture on top of the mac and cheese.

9. Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the breadcrumbs turn golden brown.

10. Once finished, take the baking dish out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
