Ingredients

  • pound elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 pound crab meat
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons jerk seasoning
  • Bread crumbs for topping

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.

2. Cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions.

3. While the macaroni is cooking, melt the butter over medium heat in a saucepan. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Cook for a minute or two until the mixture starts to turn brown.

4. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth. Cook for about 5 minutes until the mixture has thickened.

5. Add the shredded cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, nutmeg, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder. Stir until the cheese has completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

6. In a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and crab meat and cook until the shrimp are pink and the crab meat is heated through, about 5 minutes.

7. Add the jerk seasoning to the shrimp and crab and stir until they are coated.

8. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until everything is well combined.

9. Add the jerk seasoned shrimp and crab to the mac and cheese mixture and stir until everything is well combined.

10. Pour the mac and cheese mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle bread crumbs over the top of the mac and cheese.

11. Bake the mac and cheese for 20-25 minutes or until the bread crumbs are golden brown.
