The Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Lightly grease a 10-inch tube pan with vegetable oil.

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cake flour, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well and make a well in the center.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together oil, egg yolks, water, and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture into the well and whisk until smooth.

4. Using an electric mixer, beat egg whites and cream of tartar on medium-high speed until foamy. Gradually add the remaining 1/4 cup granulated sugar, while continuously beating on high speed, until stiff and glossy peaks form.

5. Fold in the egg whites and the cream cheese into the batter until smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared tube pan and bake for 55-60 minutes or until golden brown.

6. Remove the cake from the oven and invert the pan onto a cooling rack or a bottle, making sure that the cake is suspended upside down while cooling. Let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan.

7. To make the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
